Thurs 28th May - 9 Arches, Sankey Valley area  --  2 Ravens over.

                              St Helens town centre  -- 1 Peregrine.

 

Wed 27th May -  Carr Mill Dam  --  Several Great Crested Grebe's with chicks.

 

Tues 26th May - Newton Lake, NLW  --  2 Mute Swans,  2 Canada Geese,  4m-3f Gadwall,  1 Tufted Duck,  1 Grey Heron. 

 

Mon 25th May - Carr Mill Dam  --  2 Mute + 2 cygnets,  15 Canada Geese + 15 goslings,  2 Shoveler,  2 Tufted Duck,  2 Common Tern,  

                                  ''     ''       ''   --  2 Kingfisher,  1 Sedge Warbler,  2 Corn Bunting.  

                             Old Coach Road area  -- Cuckoo calling,  lots of  Swifts,  Swallows,  House Martins,  1 Common Buzzard,  1 Kestrel, 

                                ''      ''        ''         ''   --   1 GS Woodpecker,   also present are Tree Sparrow,  Yellowhammer and lots of Willow Warblers.

 

Sat 23rd May --  Prescot Reservoir (permit only)  --  1 male Garganey briefly between 7.00am to 7.35am. 

                            Wagon Lane Haydock,  Sankey Valley --  1 Common buzzard over,  1 Lapwing in top field,  1 Jay. 

 

Fri 22nd May  -- Eccleston Mere  --  3 pairs Great Crested Grebe with chicks,  5 Mute Swans,  1 Common Tern,  2 Grey Wagtail.

                            Prescot Reservoir (permit only)  -- 2 Little Ringed Plover,  1 female Whinchat. 

 

Wed 20th May - St Helens town centre  -- possible (no definitive ID due to v. poor/distant views.) report of a Red-footed Falcon in town centre.

 

Tues 19th May - Carr Mill Dam  --  8 Common Tern,  1 Common Buzzard,  1 Kingfisher,  lots of Swallows, Swifts and a few House Martins,

                            Roper Street, Fingerpost  --  12 Linnets on football pitch with Starlings and Woodpigeons.

                            St Helens town centre  -- 1 Peregrine.

 

Sun 17th May  -- Prescot Reservoir (permit only)  -- 1 Little Ringed Plover,  1 Common Tern. 

 

Sat 16th May  -- Mossborough Hall area  --  9 Red-legged Partridge,  2 Oystercatcher,  5 House Martin plus lots of Swallows and Swifts around. 

                            Howard's Lane, Catchdale Moss  --  5 Red-legged Partridge,  750+ Wood Pigeon in fields off Howard's Lane.

 

Fri 15th May  --  St Helens town centre  -- 1 Peregrine.

Wed 13th May - Havannah Flash to Folds Rd, Sankey Valley -- 1 Mute Swan,  1 Grey Wagtail,  10 Swifts,  15 Swallows,  4 Sedge Warbler. 

 

Tues 12th May - Prescot Reservoir (permit only)  -- 12 G.C Grebe,  3 Gadwall,  3 Shelduck,  3 Grey Heron,  3 Common Buzzard, 

                                   ''               ''             ''      ''    --  3 Oystercatcher,  2 Little Ringed Plover,  29 Herring Gull,  70 L.B.B Gulls.

Wed 6th May  - Carr Mill Dam  --  1 Cormorant,  3 Common Tern,  10+ Swift,  1 Kingfisher,  4 Common Whitethroat,  1 Willow Tit.

                            Moss Bank  --  1 Swift. 

 

Tues 5th May -- 9 Arches, NLW  --  5 Swifts,  3 Swallows,  2 House Martin,  3 Sand Martin,  2 Common Whitethroat. 

                            Newton Lake, NLW  --  1 male Gadwall,  1 male Teal,  2 Mute Swans,  2 Canada Geese,  7 Tufted Duck,  1 Kestrel. 

                            Mereland Way / Berrys Lane  -- 2 Swifts  flying low over and around the houses

 

Mon 4th May -- Eccleston Mere --  1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling,  5 Common Whitethroats singing.

                           Carr Mill Dam  --  3 Common Tern,  3 Yellowhammer.

                            Fir Tree Farm,  Kings Moss  --  7 Redpoll,  3 Common Whitethroat. 

                            Clinkham wood  --  2 Great spotted Woodpecker,  3 Chiffchaff.

                            Moss Bank  --  1 Kestrel.
